Cyclists Again

When you are cycling down a main road and a bus appears at a side road, is it normal for the driver wait until they see the whites of your eyes before pulling straight out in front of you? Bit of a pain when you are doing about 25mph on a road bike.
This has happened twice this week (in clear wx conditions and fairly empty roads).
Is it a Highway Code rule or an "Orangutan in a White Van" type thing? If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.Comment

Approach roundabout. Wait. Car drives down to my right, indicates to turn left. I wait. He starts to turn slowly so I set off into the roundabout, the ******* twat then changes his mind pulls his wheel violently to the right back into the roundabout directly at me.
FFS! Missed me by inches.
Does not alter the fact that generally cyclists are worse. You might be perfect.....Comment

What annoys me is the growing trend for cyclists to cycle in a pelaton as though they're in the Tour de France.
Twice this week I've been stuck behind people doing this - on one occasion for more than 10 minutes making me late for an appointment as they never exceeded 25 mph.
Is it too much to ask for them to revert to a single file formation when there's a car on their tale?"Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny. "

However the 99.99999% of cyclists, every single one I have ever encountered elsewhere act in the most irresponsible manner. I have no sympathy for them at all because of the way the masses behave, which I might hazard a guess, pach seems in the sensible minority.
Down in Cornwall, the A30 was so narrow and twisty in places, with large coaches hammering along, that if you didnt move quickly, in a straight line and stick close to the gutter, you would be knocked off and killed. The roads were so narrow that HGV's/PCV's used to skim so close, you had to fight the back draught from an object a few cm's away doing 60mph. Cycling single file was a must.
Also as I said, moving quickly as well. It annoys me when I see cyclists going at 5mph, holding up traffic, their legs spinning round like a rabbit which has contracted myxomatosis. You have an eighteen gear bike, why the hell on a level stretch cycle in second?! And they wonder why they get knocked off their bikes when they have no idea how to use one.
Whatever happened to cycling proficiency in school playgrounds?
They have such a bad attitude on them as well. Ideally, I'd love to run the buggers over, but the law says I cant, so when one of them rides like a drunk toddler on a high speed road, even though they have their own cycle lane, they throw a massive tantrum if you hoot your horn at them.
I really do loathe cyclists. They are even worse than mother pedestrians and that really is saying something. The ones that ram their prams in to your ankles on the pavement and you cant shout at those lousy feminists or kick their prams, all you can do is dryly state that crack was your ankle, which amuses the witches greatly. They launch their prams in to the middle of the road to stop traffic and then casually stroll out, chin-wagging on their mobiles, oblivious to the world around them.Comment

I cycle a lot. I am also a car owner. Some of these twats on bikes just don't get it. Cycling 2 abreast along a main road doesn't make you safer, far from it, it makes it more dangerous as you frustrate the drivers behind, who then start making daft manoeurvres in order to get past; I've seen cars brush cyclists before in this scenario. It also pisses people off somewhat, that you don't contribute to the roads, yet act as if you own it.
It's even worse around where I live, as the roads are mostly narrower. On a back road recently, I had a tete a tete with a cyclist, as he was two abreast, enjoying the scenery with me behind. After a couple of minutes, I tooted the horn, it being a single track lane and him and his wife taking most of it. He eventually pulled over, but as I passed, gave a languid shake of his wrist, possibly suggesting I enjoyed playing with myself. As I stopped, he got off his bike and said, rather ironically, that I didn't own the road. If my kids had not been on the car, I would have punched him. It's cyclists like these twats that give cyclists a bad name. A tractor will pull off the road to let traffic through, if he's holding it up. Most cyclists seem to revel in the fact they're holding people up. I don't mind you going double up, just ******* pull back in when you have people queing up behind you...Comment
