Is there anything useful and money-saving I can do with orange peel?

I tried home made potpourri, but it went mouldy after a few days and didn't smell much like orange

    Ditto broken egg shells.

Both can be composted, thus saving you £4.99 and a bad back lugging home a bagful from the garden centre.

        Make candied orange peel?
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Orange peel is allegedly edible, sans pesticides, and some people make and even buy that jam with it in. It's also allegedly a teeth whitener. It's high in Limonene which can used used in solvents, paint stripper, biofuel, cosmetics and food.

Egg shells are 95% calcium carbonate, so uses abound.

If you mix your orange peel (acetic acid) with your egg shells you might make CO2 and water!

Can anyone else come up with any more great uses for these truly remarkable products, apart from chucking them in the bin?

Dried orange peel is great for lighting a fire.

You can trim the orange peel into a suitable shape and embed crushed eggshell in it to create convincing zombie eye goggles.

Is spending half of my monthly salary on lottery tickets and scratch cards a good investment, because I understand that the returns can be phenomenal ?

Can I save money by reusing condoms? After washing do I dry them on the washing line or can they go in the tumble drier?

It could be you. But the chances are it won't be.
