all their business ideas were tulip - did nobody look at them before they chose the candidates?

Actually, no that wouldn't have made good TV.

Exactly - candidates are picked for the mediocracy.

If their business plans were any good, they wouldn't need to go through 12 weeks (or however long it takes in filming time) of that tulip to get £250K.

Lord Sugar probably just books down the £250K as an advertising expense

Better people than us have decided that the winner's business plan was very good. It's about developing a money-making business, not doing something exciting for CUK members.

On that basis, and from what I've seen of his character in the last few weeks, Martin was a worthy winner.

PS Jade's business idea turned out to be really crap, didn't it. We all need another telemarketing company don't we. She even admitted it afterwards.

But her business plan - a telemarketing business bringing in £78,000 per month from the word go with zero costs, not even telephone bills!

It was about technical recruitment in the pharma industry - that means SAS mainly.
A bit late to come to that game I think ...

What I've learnt from this series of The Apprentice is that you write sh*t on the application to get on the programme, act like a cocky git for a couple of episodes, calm down and if you are not voted off present your really boring business plan which you have actually done properly.

The final two weren't a surprise as they were the ones the week before who showed they could actually do some proper research for a business.

There's a lot of truth in that. We criticise them as idiots, but they had to act like idiots get on the show.

In defence of the program makers though, few people would tune in to watch 16 clever but dull MBAs get whittled down week by week to the last two, er, clever but dull MBAs.

How is your Plan B going in which you were helping your technical friend? I have not heard any news recently, please feel free to start a new thread for it.
