Now for a sensible reply to the OP.
Eastenders is closed so dont head there. There's a majestic next door to it but they werent offering much different from what you get in the UK.
This is what I do. Hit Carrefour or LeClercs and just buy a random selection of French wines paying no more than 5 euros per bottle.
Got a year's supply last time for a couple of hundred quid and I haven't come across a bad one yet.Comment

To be honest, the best deals are when you stay there for a brief hols and work out what the locals are drinking: table wine that is quite decent for about a coupla quid a bottle.If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.Comment

To be honest it's just not economically viable anymore - once the cost of traveling is included any savings are likely to be negligible, & the only savings may be on diesel if you fill up in France
Belgium / Luxemburg is the place for ciggies these days
