I didn't know that 70% of Dalmations are deaf until this week.Originally posted by k2p2 View PostIt worked in 101 Dalmatians.
Apparently it's to do with the breeding.
As I mentioned before a mongrel or a cross bred is a good dog, and it is less likely to have genetic problems (expensive vets bills) from being inbred."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

What? Oh come on, don't put stuff in General that I may have to go and google elsewhere to see if it's correct.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostI didn't know that 70% of Dalmations are deaf until this week.

Classical transposition.
30% have a hearing problem. 70% normal.
Still high though. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment

I'm still not getting a Dalmation though.
Or a sausage dog as they have bad backs.
Or a sheep dog as they are hyper if normal and timid if you lock them in.
I do like Giant Poodles though but I've only met them in pubs. I don't understand why people cut their coat into funny shapes particularly as they are an intelligent bred."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Personally I'm happy with a mongrel.
I grew up with a lab / collie mix. How can you not love that face? What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment
