It's different to the current threat that faces them though, Iraq wasn't very cut and dry as a war and Afghanistan was more a guerilla war which always turns out bad for occupying forces. Still a lot of soldiers paid the ultimate price for their country.

Just been offered a long term contract in Iraq for large moolah, to train up the locals. 24 month, ongoing, with accomodation, flights and my own security. The last 'perk' was enough for me...

Somehow I don't think you're made of the right stuff to handle things when they go titsup.
