On second thoughts its even simpler; if the SPL/SFA are looking to strip titles they must have already accepted that Rangers FC carried on rather than a new club forming, how can you strip titles for a club that has yet to win any?!

Whether newco is the same club or not is irrelevant when it comes to "stripping" titles.

If found guilty, the titles won would be removed from the history books.

The history hasn't disappeared either. History and any titles legally won will still be in the record books. The history question is actually simply whether it is an unbroken timeline or not from oldco to newco.

I am a Rangers fan, and I've long held my tongue on here because, frankly, it makes me sad what has happened to my club.

While I know tax evasion (the EBT's, not paying normal tax bills, debts etc last year) is incredibly bad, the outpouring of hate towards Rangers fans has stunned me. Equally, the assumption by some of our support that we should not be punished for our crimes, or should somehow have lesser punishment just because we are Rangers has also stunned me.

I know the club has bad elements in it's support, dubious signing policies in the past, but we are not all like that.

I'll always support my club, as I believe the club does continue, despite all the histrionics about company versus club from some parts.

Scottish football has been awful for a long time, and an irrelevance on the european and world stage. I don't think Rangers dropping to D3 is the catastrophe for the SPL made out in some quarters, but I also do not think it will lead to some kind of renaissance either which is the counter to the catastrophe claims.

Celtic will win the SPL ad naseum with ease until we can make it back, hopefully within 3 promotions. Hopefully we can then put up a challenge to them again in the future once our penance has been paid (if not all the debt of old co).

Anyway I am quite happy for you to keep the history as it means you will always be the club that refused to pay taxes, got liquidated, sent to division 3 and got titles stripped for cheating.

My tuppence worth is that if they are going to start getting silly about stripping awards, then HMRC have to investigate EVERY football team and press them all - before the FA starts trying to change history.

I suspect they cannot do this, as the guilty list would include nearly the entire premiership (especially on these tax fund payments , I can't remember the term for)

The SFA now consider that their players were illegally registered.

The Juninho case is red herring for idiots which is why it gets so much favour in the rangers support.

The use of EBTs was never a problem, it was paying the money back when the taxman ruled against them, ( Celtic never even got that far, they paid up to the taxman during the player's contract when they decided they were dodgy)

Also Celtic posted his correct contract to the SFA, that is why you are getting titles removed.

Hang on, on one hand you are saying that the duel contracts are the problems, but then you are saying the EBT are not the problem?!

They are one and the same thing, if a player receives money from an EBT is not part of their official contract.

The talk of stripping the titles come from illegible players, not unpaid taxes, so explain how the Juninho case is different?
