    Tax Dodgers

Moira Stewart at it now apparently.

How Moira Stuart makes sure tax doesn't have to be taxing - Telegraph

"The firm's accounts reveal that £22,607 was paid into the company in 2010/11. After £1,749 of administrative expenses were taken into account, Miss Stuart paid corporation tax on this income of £4,380."

Sounds like she did some small scale contracting on a side, sounds like proper use of Ltd.

It's funny that all these articles are coming out just when lots of the lower paid who work through agencies are being forced to use umbrella companies due to a misunderstanding with the AWR.

No, the revenue is investment income from Moira Stewart's partnership - apparently this ltd co bought 10% of her partnership, so it seems a fair assumption that the £22k is 10% of her "real" profits/income, which looks to be around £220k.

As for HMRC claiming Moira was not employed, I'd like to see her substitution clause - I'd also like to see HMRC accepting a "substitute" - "sorry Moira's not available for the photo shoot, we can send Jeremy Clarkson instead"!
