Tube workers reject £500 bonus too

Any time I visit London summer or winter the tube is a busy crowded place, how much busier can it get during the olympics? Does London have the transport infrastructre to actually cope? What are the expected visitor numbers on top of the norm?

It is going to get very unpleasant. I am pleased I am cycling to/from work. And I don't intend going out anywhere during those 3 weeks.

If your route/run is busy, you receive bonus otherwise, nothing at all.

Maybe TFL should take the union up on the idea and agree to base pay on user numbers.

But at least London traffic that's forced to use one less lane everywhere won't be bad

Not really, but if the frequency is to be increased, then the driver might have to squeeze in an extra run or two, so they might get lesser time for the in-between breaks. So they are the only one's who are actually going to sacrifice their time, and not the ticketing staff (do they have them anymore?) and the gate staff.

This makes me wonder, why the tube staff at Wembley park never demanded more pay than rest of the station staff as they cater to thousands of football fans, and even goers?

If the train is heaving, so that the doors can't close properly, and people keep pushing against them so that the emergency brakes kick in, then it makes a difference.

If not, then probably not.

The problem is, that as one gets more than the other the other wants more. It's a bit like when contractors find out how much the other is earning.

Fire the fooking lot.

It has gone the other way in recent years. rates downgrading to the lowest paid - soon shut the contractors up
