Looking into helping my mum rent out her apartment on an exclusive gated beach community in the Argeles / Perpignan area.
There is a local agent who seems able to rent the place for around 2-3 weeks in August to the French who holiday in this area. Not your typical Brits Abroad Benidorm place, which is part of the charm. (The French seem to take all of August off work, hence we tend to get a 2-3 week booking from the one family, all being well).
Would ideally need to hire a car from Perpignan (20 minutes) or Girona airports (an hour drive). Can get train to Elne 3 miles away and local taxi, so hired car not essential, but given the location of superb places to visit, a car is very useful. Got a good direct email relationship with car hire at Girona airport so we could look into packaging the car with the apartment. (Cost just 110 pounds for 4 days including all taxes, insurance and even the fuel).
As the local on-site agent cannot easily rent more than just August, very interested in any tried and trusted websites for people wanting to hire out apartments in this area, that are English speaking. Probably easier to hire out to English or English speaking people rather than enter into any problems with language barriers -we have a local person who can clean and service in-between rentals and check up, so would be wanting to take a deposit and post out keys, and return deposit on the all clear from local contact and keys returned.
