Just short of a month I've now got phone and internet back again. Took a lot of phone calls, contacting my MP, newspapers etc but seemed to work despite being told on Monday a repair would be 2-3 weeks away.
It pays to persevere.
Is anyone else reminded of the episode of the Simpsons where they go to Australia, the guy complains about Bart's behavior all the way to the Prime Minister and then proceeds to jump to the next farm were the Prime Minster is working.
Nope.
