Generally I support the teacher. But my son had one who was useless and he learnt nothing that year. However, these things are always subjective. Maybe others thought she was a great teacher? She was certainly very pretty... -
I suggest you change your title text from 'greatest of Dads' to 'married to a bisexual nympho'; it would give you serious kudos.Originally posted by BrilloPad View PostGenerally I support the teacher. There is something to be said for boarding for the last few years. However, a great many "professional" parents are looking to get them boarded up not long after they can walk!!Originally posted by d000hg View PostIf you consider it an extension of university, what about that... boarding for the last few years as a middle ground between being coddled by mummy, and thrust to fend for yourself in the big bad world?
And being at home does not necessarily mean that excessive "coddling" has to take place.
Like it or not, customers have every right to be satisfied with the product they are paying for. And I disagree that "most parents" would automatically take the child's side. Most of the parents that might be so inclined are unlikely to want to put their cans of Special Brew down long enough to want to traipse up to the school. It might mean them missing the best parts of Jeremy Kyle.Originally posted by d000hg View PostVery few people in any career would like customers turning up in their place of business. Especially at a school where most parents will feel honour-bound to take their child's side... child claims teacher is horrible, teacher claims child is a little sod, parent complains about teacher

What's the point of public schools if they can't even teach English?Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostIncascerate them in a boarding school and bring them out at weekends
I think it seriously depends on the school - a dodgy "private" is probabaly worse than a comp, as Dodgy shows, but the best "publics" are excellent.
Winchester for my lad.Hard Brexit now!
