    Re: Ocean Finance

Have to admit, the Ocean Finance add, featuring Jabba the Hut, is a classic in prole advertising.
What gets me is the Learn Direct ad; 'Are you a talentless prole with no education? Then sign up for our course and we will transform you into .Net developer overnight, with a guaranteed job at the end!'

          Computeach & Learn Direct

Anyone know what the 'guaranteed' job is? Obviously it's some sort of 2 week, 6.50 p/h job working in Tower Hamlets.

I heard it's with an outfit called EDS . . . something to do with identity cards?

Doubt it; that would mean EDS staff have undergone some sort of training, regardless of how mickey mouse.

Personally, I am a big fan of EDS; I've picked up lots of work in the past trying to rectify the total **** ups they've left behind. To misquote the great Eric Cantona; when seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they expect fish.

I remeber seeing one of these ocean finance type adverts where their example quoted a £100k loan over 25 years where at the end of 25 years you still owed £100k

                      BBC Breakfast TV

Not quite an annoying ad, but did anyone see the BBC Breakfast report from HMS Ocean this morning?

The presenter was giving a tour of the ship and comparing it to Nelson's time. At one point she was inside the radar room, surrounded by impressive monitor displays and flashing consoles, when she announced to the viewers that, "this is much more modern than what Nelson had".

Well no sh1t Sherlock :rolleyes What next? "Nelson didn't have helicopter gunships to support his attack"?
