    Not quite. They don't have to keep that at home any more, unless there is a serious threat to the country's security. Some Man U supporters got hit by shrapnel, when a nightclub owner fired his gun into the ground by their feet. He was fined for discharging a gun in public...

    It is relatively easy to legally own a gun, even if you're not a citizen. You have to have secure storage for it. A kid in my daughters' school was killed last year when his father's gun went off while he was handling it. There's relatively little crime here, but it's not to do with gun ownership. (The gangs that come over from France and other countries to do burglaries often are armed though). An apartment block on the main road near us was being refurbished. For a couple of weeks, the window units were stacked by the side of the road. How long would they have lasted in Britain?
