I've also a mortgage to cover and a rented base in London. I found the market very quiet recently so had to look outside the UK.Originally posted by bobspud View PostActually there was quite a lot doing in the UK at the end of the last quater in my sector. Aren't you worried about the euro losing value with all the issues going on at the moment? Personally I still have a mortgage in the UK. So being told that my rate is not much better than 500 a day at home, with all the French tax laws to contend with and currency fluctuations on top. that seems very risky.
Good luck

Yeah seems rates are quite a bit lower in Europe plus loads of extra cost, I've considered it but plenty for me here, my only costs are my £200 season ticket.Originally posted by AllezFrance View PostWorks for me. A 600 euro day rate is fine. Ask the client when I've delivered and added value - think they will think you're the twunt.
One thing to watch: a colleague of mine was all set for a gig in Paris, signed and sealed - ended up it suddenly disappeared due to French labour laws, which seem to totally piss on EU rights if there's a French bloke without a job waiting in the wings, ability to do the job not required...Comment
