He's cost me a bit in bets, but he is the best available English coach.

I know three quarters of the fans don't want him, but the overwhelming majority of fans were in favour of Keegan, Taylor and Revie when they were appointed, and they all proved to be sh1te.

My only worry is that the worst English managers of England have been those who, like McClaren, never played for a London club - the three above plus Wilkinson. Those that did play for London clubs were mostly all right - Ramsey, Mercer, Greenwood, Robson, Venables, even Hoddle.
