I'd been told you only offered £50 a bottle. No-one wanted to drink the cheap stuff.

Skipped the xmas party as I CNBA but did just enjoy the champagne (well it was Lindauer actually) breakfast.
Good start to what looks like a pretty slack day...

My current lot have a big swanky ball at big hotels in London. Except last year when they hired the British Museum. Contractors are only invited if there's any places left over. I went once when I was here before, I'm not missing much.

Was invited to the client do for the first time (been working for them on/off for over 3 years and until now contractors weren't invited) as I was on site this week when they had it.

Was tempted just for the free booze (everyone has to pay towards the meal, though it was subsidised) and see what boozed up totty was knocking about later.

Turns out the two permies on my team weren't going so I felt obliged to decline the offer as work was obviously more important, even though we'd got the critical stuff sorted in time so no excuse really, the miserable gits.

Seems a lot of permies are depressed this Christmas as they only bothered to put the tree and decorations up this week when they usually have all sorts of daft competitions like best decorated desk. Maybe they're feeling the economic pinch.

Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

ClientCo's internal wiki has a "Christmas Countdown" page: "Hello and welcome to the Christmas Countdown! Sam, Ben and I will each be choosing one Christmas song per day running up to Christmas. It will be updated daily so watch this space!!! And of course, enjoy "

It does seem rather subdued compared to previous years in general, I guess more people are realising the harsh reality of the country's economic situation

Missing option - Cleintco offers, I decline.

                      Don't do Xmas parties.

Cleintco today full of people bragging about how little they can remember of last night and how bad they feel. I am past that.
