Pop over to Candle power forum for reviews, advice and discussion, and someone could point you in the direction of UK distributors. The guys on CPF take their flashlights seriously as you can see from the super collection photographs.

There is a London meetup some years for UK users.
Coast are pretty upmarket brand from the US and I already own the TX10 which I'm impressed with which is why I am considering their HP21 and at £170 is withing my budget.

I live in a village with no street lights and it is pitch black and our house is set well back from the road so I want a flashlight that pretty much floodlights my back and front garden and the street etc. It's fields to our back and right of the house with the closest neighbor to our left is 200 meters away so hence the need for a good light.

Do people who spend £300 on a torch hold it like a NY cop searching an abandoned warehouse i.e. above your head or the British 'Dixon of Dock Green' straight out in front style?
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

People should get used to carrying torches over their shoulder. One benefit is that the light stays more steady while you run/walk briskly with it. The major benefit of carrying a torch on your shoulder and a reason why police do, is if you're attacked/attacking, you have the torch in a prime position to swing at the persons head like a baseball bat before they can react.

I recommended maglites because they last forever and with the metal build quality, are the only torch that has stood up to the abuse I use to subject mine to when I lived more rurally. Dropped a maglite off a cliff 80ft-100ft before, worked fine afterwards and no dents.

I shall remember that next time I am looking for lego people under the sofa. They can be vicious little buggers.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

                    The power is mind blowing.
It's like having a car headlight with high and dipped beam.
It's a little on the large side, but can be carried comfortably with the shoulder strap.

I bought a brand new one for £23.98 from Costco in Avonmouth (Near Bristol). The price asked by this UK company, in the link, is a rip-off.

Costco seem to stock them about every six months.

LOL. I bought one for my stepdad from Costco. He turned on to shine in the field behind the house. It lit up the whole area, the cattle bolted and birds about 800metres away were startled in the trees.
