Isn't it Leeds Bradford where they make you go through passport control, even on domestic flights? -

Well it is less an international airport and more a glorified shed. I always forget how much smaller it is than Newcastle.Originally posted by TheFaQQer View PostThat's because no-one flies through Teesside any more

I take it you've never been to Gatwick Airport, which is like a 1970s timewarp. Thirty minutes in security there is almost guaranteedOriginally posted by DimPrawn View PostWHS.
Wet and cold northern tulipehole. The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

I was referring to the whole of Manchester. Fooking grim city.Originally posted by Bagpuss View PostI take it you've never been to Gatwick Airport, which is like a 1970s timewarp. Thirty minutes in security there is almost guaranteedComment

Had a laugh there once.Originally posted by Bagpuss View PostI take it you've never been to Gatwick Airport, which is like a 1970s timewarp. Thirty minutes in security there is almost guaranteed
Early morning, surrounding by tourists we were informed our flight was delayed and we'd miss the connecting flight.
"We demand a hotel"
"No, get your head down in the airport" came the answer.
Whoop whoop. We were on one of the few business class flights out of there and got what we wanted. Personal escort through customs and passport control and a chauffeur driven Merc to the hotel for our unplanned overnight stop.
Things were different then.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment

SYO was nowhere near as bad as SVO domestic terminal though...Originally posted by stek View PostDon't go via Leeds Bradford, it's like well Soviet, Sheremetyevo revisited...
To be fair they have recently improved SVO no end, I last went through in July, it was acceptable. The aeroexpress direct to Belorussky is handy too.Comment
