I agree, but it may end that there is no choice. Both leaders could face rebellion from their own ranks here.

Nope, if an election were called early 2012 it would be a walkover for the Tories. If it looked like being anywhere a close call, the Sun could re-run their "Last one in Britain, Please turn the lights out" front page, this time with Ed featuring.
