    I quite like the Clooney version, but then I also like Lynch's version of Dune

      Stanislaw Lem was one of the greatest science-fiction writers ever. Solaris is one of the greatest science-fiction books ever, though most people will miss the point. The Tarkovsky film is too slow and turgid. The Clooney film is OK, though misses the point.
