No it isn't, the fact that a people vote for a repressive regime doesn't justify it. Even outcome of a free vote must be subject to some basic limits, like freedom of the individual and equality. May as well argue that laws excluding blacks from various jobs would be ok if Brits vote the BNP in.if the people of Libya had a referendum and agrred to have an Islamic state that is finebloggoth

No. Articles about this do not just appear in what you probably regard as the reactionary press but also in publications like the Jewish Chronicle and Pink News.
