I worked with someone who got custody of his daughter. Apparently it was down to his daughters decision to stay with her dad. All depends on the judge and getting a good solicitor.

Is 'au' Swedish for 'nice'?Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

I was with you up until that point. For divorce finance issues getting a good lawyer helps. But for access you are probably better off on your own. There are places you can get free help.Originally posted by norrahe View Postgetting a good solicitor.Comment

How old are your kids? There view matters more the older they get.
At 14 my daughter decided to move up to London to live with me and my new wife.
My ex-wife shouted a lot but knew there wasn't anything she could do if it went to court.
I am not sure at what age the court would override a mother wishes over the childs.
Hard times, been there, but being out and broke is better than in and miserable.......actually, my life freed up when I got divorced, went contracting and now I'm out and loaded (comparatively)

GL with the outcome.Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.Comment

The chances of convincing the divorce court to let you have the kids are 50/50. Either you convince the court or you don't.Originally posted by jeremytaxman View PostWhats the chances of convincing the divorce court to let me have the kids ..."Condoms should come with a free pack of earplugs."Comment

Personally I think the OP is talking bollocks.
He's worried about getting custody of the kids and starts a thread titled "Au Pair"?
