Mine was a corsair, that was a revell kit though, the first airfix was a hawk in red arrows livery. I also had spitfire in two scales, hurricane, lancaster, mosquito, avro anson, me109, focke wulf 190, mustang (d), b27 and a liberator. And quite a few jets, tornado, jaguar, harrier, lightning, hawker hunter, a vulcan, tomcat, eagle, f16, f86, f111 (got that one after they flew over my house to bomb libya) and prob a few others, seem to recall an alpha jet as well to make a full set of display teams.

I moved on to wooden ones with rubber band power when i got a bit older, couldn't afford radio control. I did get a car when i was older though, found the second car in a box the other day actually, thinking about getting it running again.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

      Kielkraft!

Boydells Model Shop in Bolton, wonder if it's still there.......

I went railway modelling after that, whitemetal kits by Wills Finecraft. If the missus finds out I was into trains I'm a dead man, told her I was in the SAS...

HMS Victory. Given to me as a present because my dad wanted to build it (feckin cheapskate).
        Just saying like.

        where there's chaos, there's cash !

I could agree with you, but then we would both be wrong!

Had a 617 Sqdn Lancaster Bomber as my first kit (granddad was rear gunner in that Sqdn) but my dad did most of it, the one I remember was this one:

Fixed it up but it took ages and by the time it came to paint it, I'd grown out of them which was a big shame. Not sure where it ended up.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

Didn't you paint the parts in the frame before assembly? How did you do all the interior parts?

Funnily enough, I left the last gig 2 weeks ago and as part of a leaving gift, I got a limited edition Airfix type kit of a Lamborghini Gallardo. Not built it yet as I've the only glue I've got is a Pritt Stick...
P47 was the Thunderbolt, the Mustang is a P51.

My first was a 'Dogfight Double' of an ME110 and a Spitfire. The Matchbox offerings were good quality, with, IRRC, recessed panel lines rather than raised, and in two coloured plastic for the cheapskates that couldn't be bothered to paint them.

All the interior was painted, engine, cockpit, etc. But for some reason we never got round to painting the outside and adding the decals and what not. Would love to finish it off if it's still in my dad's loft.

One of the little ships in the plastic bags. Golden Hind I think, Cost 2/11 in Glasgow.
Really pissed off when I tried to sail it in the sink and it wouldn't stay upright.

I think it was HMS Hood that got ripped apart and plasticine ballast inserted to try and make it stay upright in the bath.

I don't recall the exercise being entirely successful.
