Ooops: The Supermarkets had better create a few more jobs...

    because,

"Pressure is mounting on the Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt over fears of thousands more job cuts and a £600 million deficit in England.",

"Ms Hewitt insists the health service is doing more work than ever before, despite 7,000 job cuts already having been announced. ",

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4931648.stm

    oops,

    Milan.

I must say, really, they have those numbers wrong. IIRC 9,000 are already to be be fired, so this is 16,000 and not just 7,000, shirley?

This New Lie wunch really give deceitful a run for its money.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

Blair said today that he has every confidence in Health Minister Patricia Spewitt.

..... I feel an imminent reshuffle once the local elections are safely out of the way!

Blair has stated his every confidence on any number of occasions. Even though the things and people he has had every confidence in have proven to be less than honest or tenable he has not had the good grace to fall on his sword.

His word is worth the neck end of **** all. It is usualy a good inverse pointer to the reality of the case.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Patricia Spewitt - like it Hart-floot, not heard that one before.

Liebour of course is doing what comes so natural to it. Being deceitful and incompetant. Claims that waiting lists have never been lower but not mentioning the scale of patients waiting to get on a waiting list.

Hospitals closing, wards closing, frontline staff being made redundant in their thousands.Deliberate mis-information about 'new nurses', not mentioning that most of the newbies are part time not full time.

Ludicrously large amounts of money being spent on such nonsense as 'crisis managers' and various other unproductive management. Management consultants being paid lord knows how much to come up with such charming ideas as charging patients to watch TV, listen to radio, and inflated charges to both patients & friends/relatives using the telephone. Car Parking charges comparable to the most expensive.

The NHS under Liebour exists for the exclusive benefit of those who run it and no one else.

            Couldn't agree more matey!

But maybe that "sword" will be here sooner than you think. Once the Metropolitain Police come a calling wanting to know more about the Labour party's "loans" for jobs in the House of Lords scandal.

Saw a group of representative voters being interviewed on one of the Sunday morning shows. The session was being run by a psychologist who showed how easily he could sway their opinion by even the simplest of measures. Anyway, 90%+ of them said health spending was their number one priority and that they supported tax increases in order to increase NHS spending.

                Were they:

                Ethnic?
                Guardian readers ?
                Old and infirm?

High time a political party grasped the nettle and abolished the NHS - bring in a system more akin to the continental system, which improves patient outcomes.
                  Hard Brexit now!

Unfortunately that would be political suicide. You would never convince the great unwashed that anything other than the current model is the one they want and you would be crucified by your political opponents.

Best thing is to take a leaf out of the NuLabour book and say nothing about it, but then just do it anyway.
