This property scores all the right points and meets my criteria, but i genuinely feel the landlord is just being unreasonable. If they are unwilling to co-operate then i think my only option is to move on and find something else.
I had offered to pay 3 months rent up-front and a deposit, so if i were to have my contract ended (for the first time in 3 years, mind you) then they still have the minimum term paid on the let, but apparently thats not good enough, they just want the whole lot, or nothing...what a shame.

Get into a shared house. Then you won't have to get on the lease. You just have to find one with a large bedroom that doesn't mind a couple moving in. You can find one with professionals rather than students. I'm in one now. Get your own bathroom.Originally posted by MrT View PostThanks Guys :-)
I have thrown them my previous offer back and will see what they do, in the mean time i have thrown my PlanB into action and talking numbers and dates with them just incase it all goes sour.
Until then i am in serviced accommodation (finished moving in at 2AM yesterday, what a way to spend a saturday night!!). Hopefully i won't be here too long, at least i can claim the tax back on it though which is a bonus!
