The fundamental issue here is that the vast majority of "Travellers" have no respect whatsoever for the rule of law and don't care whose law it is, they use the racism card to hide behind. Before anyone jumps on me I do have first hand experience with them !

So do I. They are scum. In the past year alone:

A WRVS shop in Luton Hospital where my daughter helps out, thankfully not on the day when the pikies came in mob-handed, distracted the old lady volunteers who run the shop, and helped themselves to stuff. I saw the bastards trying this at a service station, intimidating any other customers. They visit my local pub-restaurant every now and again. Usually their kids run riot around the other tables making a nuisance of themselves. Last Christmas the teenagers in a group collected up all the candles off the tables and threw them on the fire, much to the mirth of the adults.

I've got sympathy with anybody who wants these sh1ts as far away from them as possible.

If you have seen Romanies in Eastern Europe you would have noticed that they are very different from the communities they live in. They are much nearer Indian Origin and dark skinned. In some Eastern European countries they are given special assistance in housing, schools etc as a minority group

I think genuine gypsies are descended from a North West Indian tribe called the Guptas, who headed north west when the Muslims invaded in around the 10th century. But they must have interbred so much in Europe over the centuries that they can't really be said to be a separate race these days.

I completely agree in general they are pikey scum they have no respect for the laws of the land or those who try and enforce them. They have an over inflated sense of entitletment which makes them seem to think they can settle anywhere and the community they settle in has to deal with it. The expect to be able to send their kids to school but have absolutley no interest in supporting the childs education or the teachers who are trying to educate them. They expect all of the perks of living in GB without having to pay for it. They treat women like second class citizens and some of their traditions are not far from barbarism.

If they want to travel fine - no more than 1 week in any given area and also they should not be allowed to gather in groups of 5 pikey caravans or more.
