I disagree, If the original tirade against Doodab was public rather than by PM, then it's fitting that the apology is public too. Notwithstanding the anonymity of an interweb forum, if still takes some quantity of moral fibre to stand up and admit that your entire thread attacking another poster, was misjudged.
