I'm surprised they still use a book; I'd have thought this sort of thing would be online now. Although, given the state of public sector IT projects that's probably a tad optimistic.

I approach every contract the same. On day one I turn up with my mate Google and he stays with me for the whole duration.Originally posted by Sysman View PostI heard about a potential client who acted like that. If he found any contractor consulting reference material they got their marching orders.

Ok, fair enough comments and I get the IT contractor analogies but consulting a book for a common or garden ear infection would be like me having to consult Google when I get an integer divide by 0 error.Comment

It is online but they have to do house calls so the book goes everywhere with them.Originally posted by Bunk View PostI'm surprised they still use a book; I'd have thought this sort of thing would be online now. You better thank God he did look at the book. My friend was prescribed two types of pain killers at the same time by a doctor who did not look at the book. Both contained Paracetamol. He now has a damaged liver.Originally posted by pacharan View PostAm I being unreasonable here but I don't expect a doctor to consult a book whilst deciding what drugs to prescribe me for my ear infection.
Another thing too, she looked about 16. I'm sure Is feel very uncomfortable discussing certain issues with someone so young.
To me, doctors have always been kind of patrician figures. Sign of getting old I guess."A people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims, but accomplices," George OrwellComment

Actually I would hope that he did check the book for common issues as its in those circumstances that people make assumptions and screw up.Originally posted by pacharan View PostOk, fair enough comments and I get the IT contractor analogies but consulting a book for a common or garden ear infection would be like me having to consult Google when I get an integer divide by 0 error.merely at clientco for the entertainmentComment
