I suppose its a kind of Win Win situation - if they are right they get to enter Heaven - if not then they will never be the wiser.

Anyway Pakistan hasnt detonated any nukes and I would be surprised if Iran doesnt have the Bomb yet - and you can bet Saudi Arabia has a few tucked away .

Well - the Cuban Crises in 1960 almost resulted in a nuclear war between Ivan and the Yanks - as I recall it came doen to a vote of three Soviet Nuke Sub commanders - and they v9te was 2-1 against a strike on the USA.

And of course we always have the posiibilty of accidental nuclear warfare-

He had been given a code by which to warn the CIA if he was convinced that a Soviet attack on the United States was imminent. He was to call twice, one minute apart, and only blow into the receiver. Further information was then to be left at a "dead drop" in Moscow.

The pre-arranged code message was received by the CIA on November 2, 1962.

It was known at the CIA that Penkovsky had been arrested on October 22. Penkovsky knew he was going to be executed. It is not known whether he had told the KGB the meaning of the code signal or only how it would be given, nor is it known exactly why or with what authorization the KGB staff used it. When another CIA agent checked the dead drop he was arrested.

Don't go on what the press say. If you are really interested; then please read up on it. As I said, I am not for any religion. The word Jihadists is misused and those who commit such atrocities are mislead. There are too many self appointed self appointed religious leaders who interoperate the Koran as they wish for their own ends.

I asked Atw his reasoning behind wanting to attack Iran - I have not been to Iran but I would be interested to visit - oh and Iran does have quite a large and active Jewish community too - cant be that bad a place- eh - or do we just destroy another nation because of our Oil Addiction ?

Again as for the topic of Iran - I wanted to know Atws rationale for wanting to go to War with Iran - I have not yet had a valid reason so I am intrigued as to what his real problem is with Iran..

The war began when Iraq invaded Iran, launching a simultaneous invasion by air and land into Iranian territory on 22 September 1980 following a long history of border disputes, and fears of Shia insurgency among Iraq's long-suppressed Shia majority influenced by the Iranian Revolution. Iran has a bad enough government and it does not need enhanced propaganda from you to show them to be so. The main problem with government in Iran is one of corruption, not surprising as most governments in the world seem to suffer from the same failures.

Iran banned public executions five years ago unlike the USA that still has them.
Stoning was also banned even though the local courts still try to impose it they do get overruled by the Supreme Court. There are stoning is still going on in neighbouring Turkey.

Censorship in Turkey seems to be on a par with Iran, just try and access a few websites in Turkey and you will find out. There is about twelve independent opposition newspapers published in Iran, far more than the UK or USA. The government does try to close some of them down but they have not been successful.

The recent ant Iran stance has started since the Israeli people have been protesting about government expenditure on war to the detriment of their own citizen’s welfare. Hence also the raid on Gaza that has been going on for a month; reported in the world media except USA and the BBC. It is only since Hammas fired back rockets did the BBC start to report it.

The Israeli government are now getting tulip scared of their own people and their government and the USA will do anything to diver attention.
