Now - while you could describe the UK as been secular - the USA is certainly not so - if youhave been there you would be aware of that

On February 20, 1955, President Dwight D. Eisenhower stated that "Recognition of the Supreme Being is the first, the most basic, expression of Americanism."[66] President Gerald Ford agreed with and repeated this statement in 1974.[67]

Remember - In God we Trust - they dont put the on the currency for nowt you know.

PS The offical reason for the invasion of Iraq - according to GW Bush - was that God had told him to do it.

      It's their personal opinion.

Here is how this is resolved in US of A when it stops being personal view:

I think Islam offers heaven and all those virgins to those who die in a Holy war. So why not start one with nukes.
Not likely in the US unless one of those rapturists gets into power. Even then there are lots of sane people in the chain of command to stop it.
Iran does not have the same branch of Islam that professes to give virgins to those who die. The same misunderstanding could be made about Christianity and believing that all Christians are the same as the Ku Klux Klan

Does it believe that those who die in a holy war go straight to heaven?
I dont care about the finite detail, but I understood Muslims tend to believe that it is Allahs will if they die and are therefore willing to take the risk.
                Just saying like.

George Bush has claimed he was on a mission from God when he launched the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, according to a senior Palestinian politician in an interview to be broadcast by the BBC later this month.

Mr Bush revealed the extent of his religious fervour when he met a Palestinian delegation during the Israeli-Palestinian summit at the Egpytian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, four months after the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.

One of the delegates, Nabil Shaath, who was Palestinian foreign minister at the time, said: "President Bush said to all of us: 'I am driven with a mission from God'. God would tell me, 'George go and fight these terrorists in Afghanistan'. And I did. And then God would tell me 'George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq'. And I did."

Mr Bush went on: "And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, 'Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East'. And, by God, I'm gonna do it."

Mr Bush, who became a born-again Christian at 40, is one of the most overtly religious leaders to occupy the White House, a fact which brings him much support in middle America.

I dislike the Muslim religion and I detest the Iranian regime but it does not make me want to tell porkies about them or their religion. I suggest you do some reading up on the subject before you post and show your ignorance.
