That was a completely different offence, what the facebook lot did was try to incite others to commit an indictable offence (i.e. a serious one), it shouldn't matter how that message is conveyed, whether it be on the internet or standing outside a pub rounding up some local chavs.

Just as a matter of interest, what sentences should be handed out for the following?

I say throw the scrote to the dogs.

It's got nothing to do with technicality, they are completely different areas. How on earth can you compare someone's shop getting burned down and someone possibly losing their life to Acme Inc losing a couple of thousand pound in revenue.

It's a well know saying, but ignorance of the law is no defence.

Getting back to the argument though, we know that some of these events were being orchestrated through social media. Why should these idiots not be dealt with the way they were? Do you honestly believe they should only have been punished if the riot actually took place?

It's called preventative action on the part of the police to try and stop incidents escalating. If Joe Bloggs goes out of his house intent on robbing a bank, but gets stopped by the police do you think he should be let off because the actual offence hasn't been committed?

Are you saying that Incognito's dad should have the snip?

                      Bit harsh.
