They also want 2 references from EACH client over the past 3 years! Yeah... that's going to happen.... even after telling them that I can guarantee 1 reference from 1 of my previous clients, but the rest will be from agencies. He wasn't having any of that, which made me suspicious. The odd thing was that the agent didn't even mention who the client was, which is unusual, if the role was genuine.

The fact that he asked me for job specs of opportunities that I may be working on (interview stage or not) just goes to show that the opportunity they approached me for isn't genuine. I seriously cannot believe that there is a contractor out there that would fall for the tactic that the agent has used. But it all depends on how gullable the contractor is, or whether the contractor has an axe to grind with that client / agency.

Quite possibly. I don't really follow foreign footie, so can't possibly comment.

I had a Linkedin invite from an agent who stated the following on his profile:

Experienced Recruiter/Manager with a particular knack of finding highly niche skill sets from across the world within very short time frames and under budget.
                      Recent examples include:

                      - Network Engineer for a FTSE 100 FMCG company - found a CCIE candidate within 24 hours and £50pd under budget
                      - AIX Administrator for Cisco & Microsoft Gold Partner - found a Czech national living in Spain at £130pd under market rates who was on site in the UK within 48 hours of receiving the offer.
                      - Technical Project Manager for a leading Consultancy - telephone IV within 30 minutes and starting the next day at £90pd under budget

                      I did not reply.
