It's those same Building Regs which mean you need to buy a power shower to get decent hot water pressure.

Are they recent building regs?

My old house had a modern-ish combi boiler that provided plenty of hot water 'on tap' to the house, including shower. Water pressure from the cold feed into the boiler was enough for a decent shower with nothing but a mixer on the shower attachment.

New place has some poncy electric powered shower* that is as powerful as a dribbling baby.

* I'm guessing that's not the same as a proper power shower.

WHS - although it's my current house which has decent pressure water through the shower using nothing but the mains water and a combi boiler.

The first telephone was completely feckin' useless until the second one was invented.
