Isn't Scotland the region with the largest proportion of public sector leeches, er workers?

It is hard to compare, the water board are still public up here, Forestry as well are always going to hire more in Scotland.

If we had privitisation to the level for done in England it would compare. I do not think anywhere in Scotland is on a public sector gravy train like what new labour gave to some areas of England and Wales. Scotland's economy is modest but ticks over without too much help.

Jest aside, clearly the wealth of one country's natural resources is being exhausted for the feckless masses in the south.
