Deflation era bargains - inflation? PAH!

Been speccing up a new PC and was stunned to see how cheap ram is at the moment.

e.g. 8gb DDR3 (2x4gb) is around 40 quid plus vat, so I'm looking at getting 4 sticks giving 16gb for little over 80 quid (I can reclaim the vat ).

Not sure if current prices present an investment opportunity (i.e. buy a load of ram sticks and wait for the prices to recover), this article suggests prices could drop even further!

I was hoping 8gb sticks would be reasonably priced, but there's still a x2 premium (at least) on those.

Quite. I'll probably be using the rest for a ram disk. Should make my virtual machines fly.

If only 8gb sticks were reasonably priced I could max out at 32gb on consumer boards with only 4 slots.
