Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Being born with something doesn't make it a disease.

There seem to be 2 types of people in this world: the self-indulgent for whom everything is someone else's fault, and the self-reponsible, who if they have a problem fix it without regard to cause.
Only the first lot claim to suffer from a "disease". That takes responsibility off their hands - after all if you have a disease there's not a lot you can do , someone has to cure you.

Hands up all those who realise that the words "illness" and "disease" are not synonyms.

While the choice was made and the patient has got themselves into that mess by themselves the treatment process between health care professional and patient is regarded as an illness at that stage

I think to look at the whole addiction cycle as purely an illness is wrong and to argue against is also wrong, the term is time dependant.

I find it laughable that some people on here are saying she was telentless and deserved to die etc.

She had more talent than all the CUK posters put together, was awarded grammies and had top ten hits. It is sad that she did not clean herself up. I dont care what you lot think but I am sad she died so young.

Tedious troll. Get on with your "Plan B", also known as day dreaming in a shed whilst unemployed.

One of my clients bemoans the "entitlement culture" of Denmark. No one takes responsibility for anything and sick leave is available for the slightest excuse. The welfare state "provides" creating a soft underbelly to the work ethic of an entire country. They are now recruiting non Danes

Quite! there are a number of sad pathetic losers on this site who's lives are dedicated to criticising anything that is slightly threatening and sits outside of their tiny sphere of interest. This obsession to criticise is born from a desire to reassure their self worth by making everyone else look bad. Supreme examples of these people are those that move to a different country and are so miserable that they spend their entire energy on denigrating the country that they came from.
