Actually IIRC there is a holiday inn on old street that would be handy for the city and a night out. Not sure on cost though.
The Great Eastern looks alright, probably quite expensive though.
Edit: Not even called the great eastern anymore. What is the world coming to.

I stayed at this hall of residence. 34 quid. Just behind the Holiday Inn Express in Old St. Can't fault it for the price.
