      From experience a mate had with APC kit several years ago, check out the software side to make sure the UPS can initiate a controlled shutdown on whatever kit you get.

      He was running some non-mainstream kit and ended up rolling his own.

        Ditch the desktop machines and get four laptops. Even if the power goes for an hour, you have no issues. Router can be connected to a very small UPS.

          I suggest the OP gets down to WHSMith and buys himself some top shelf magazines. Least when the power cuts out it will not effect his Pot Noodling. UPNS.
