    But if you look at the profits from the major banks, excluding HSBC, most of their money comes from commercial banking...not dealing with joe average on the street.

    The bank that bucks this trend is HSBC. When I get to work on Monday Ill dig up the info and post them here...makes for some very interseting reading.

        Mind you its an easy arguement to fall back on BUT its greater than that. No one is saying banks SHOULDNT charge for things like that but the problem is the charge is in all disproportion to the crime!

        Anyway...show me someone who has never had their account in overdraft and Ill show you a liar!

          If you get the late fee refunded check your credit file a couple of months later. You'll probably find the nice helpfeul bank has put a late payment on your credit rating.

            Call yourself a contractor? You shouldn't be with any of these pleb banks. Private banks - Coutts, etc. are the way to go.
