dont care about not making friends - when I socialise I do it with people I choose to not a random bunch of people who happen to share the same office space - have made some good mates but prob wouldn't speak to them out of a work setting

what I can't get used to is the stares I get, even months in to a contract, people look at me like I'm some kind of alien or at least I certainly I'm getting looked down on, doesn't bother me if people do look down on me its just the constant looking that does my head in....

I work to get paid but I'd rather enjoy it than not and often it's the people that make the difference, so I am happy to socialise with both permies and fellow contractors to some extent. I don't expect or try to get on with everyone but now and then you find someone you hit it off with and I've made a few good friends over the years from both sides of the divide.

I do try and avoid shagging co-workers though.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

There is no try, there is nothing worse than dipping your wick in the office copier, nothing but grief

2-4 weeks normally, depends on who I'm working with and how closely I'm working with other people.

I do make friends quicker with some people in the office over others:

Example 1: Fat, sweaty bloke in the corner with large beard, and thick rimmed spectacles - About 6 months.
Example 2: Fit girl in Accounts, with the low cut tops - About a day or two.

                    Hope this helps...
