Just a word to the unaware not to contract in Amsterdam you will get fleeced , out of 10500 Euro earned I was rewarded with the sum of 4170 Euro after tax and other deductions , a rip off. I am seriously beginning to doubt socialism

His post sounds similar to one complaining about a contract in Switzerland.Originally posted by stek View PostInteresting Bob-like punctuation too....
I'm puzzled why people who contract abroad presume that everything is like the UK."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Sounds like you have;
- a tulip umbrella or
- a tulip accountant
I've lived in Holland for 17 years, have contracted for nearly 7 years and my taxes are probably lower than anywhere in Europe because I took the trouble to do the research and get an accountant.And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

Let us say 5% to the umbrella, that's less than 60% total tax and deductions, including "employer's" contributions. That is not OTT. What higher earners sometimes get away with in the UK is IMHO OTT, and the reason why the UK's services and infrastructure are so crap.Originally posted by AccessDenied View PostJust a word to the unaware not to contract in Amsterdam you will get fleeced , out of 10500 Euro earned I was rewarded with the sum of 4170 Euro after tax and other deductions , a rip off.
