Guns are created for sport, hunting animals or self defence. If they are used to kill people that is no different than someone using a crossbow (crossbow cannibal) to kill. Does that mean we ban crossbows? Comeon some of you sound like you would be better in a padded room with no sharp objects just incase you start killing people.

Which is why it's a good thing guns aren't easier to get hold of in this country. There are too many mentally ill or dumb ***** on the streets who currently have to resort to knifes when they flip.
People that think they would be safer if they had a gun at home in the off chance they needed to defend themselves are morons. You'd be more likely to be shot during a fracass at the KFC over who jumped the queue.
We don't need guns, we need the right to defend ourselves in our own homes with whatever measures necessary. I don't want to have to check if some scumbag is armed before I twat him over the head with my 'naughty stick'. As soon as they step over the threshold they should be fair game like in the USA.
But if you insist on guns being easier to obtain don't start complaining when your kids get shot during a school massacre, as happens at least once a year in the USA, you dumb f****.Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

There are lots and lots of thick/stupid/maladjusted people out there, please don't try to argue it would be a good idea to arm them.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Hopefully the rampage through cumbria last year will get the accessibility tightened even further. One less idiot or mental nutjob with the ability to get hold of a gun the better.
Oh, and this smilie is for you, I can't find the moron one:Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

So the fewer people with access the better, surely!?
Yes there will always be people that currently seem sane but flip. That Christopher Foster that flipped due to massive debts and imminent threat of being made homeless and was too proud to put his wife and daughter through that, is a good example.
Only people with guns should be those that know how to use and respect them. Police, army, security services. Which may one day have to include everyday people in a position to defend others, like the Dunblane school teacher you mentioned.
For now I like the fact I can walk past some scumbag in town and know chances are he's only got a knife if he tries anything. There's enough fear being placed on people by the media (war on terror ) already.
Do you really want to be wondering if someone you accidentally cut up on the road has a gun and is mad enough (even temporarily through red mist) to use it?Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it
