What a sad coincidence; Mrs. W and I were doing a pop quiz yesterday evening, when the question 'what colour did the world turn for X-Ray Spex?' popped up. Mrs. W didn't know so I found it on Youtube and cranked the volume up.
YouTube - x ray spex - world turned dayglo
R.I.P. Poly Styrene -
Yep, another germ free adolescent here - mighty sad news
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

Hearing about Poly Styrene made be wonder about Wendy O'Williams:

She's dead too
'Butcher Baby' was one of my favourite punk singles

I used to have that single, might still be in the garage somewhere. Seem to remember it was a kind of splodgey pink colour.Originally posted by Platypus View PostHearing about Poly Styrene made be wonder about Wendy O'Williams:

Makes you feel old when these icons are all shuffling off their mortal coils at such a young age.
Liked X-Ray Spex too..................my little tribute............

If she was punk then so was Wendy James:
Transvision Vamp - I Want Your Love - Live 1991
She was pure filth by the looks of it. Right up there with that blonde from Dempsey and Makepiece.
Going to resist googling them as they're probably bloated munters by now.
About time we had another punk revolution.
Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it
