    Time well spent.

Pah, anyone decent can do a marathon on 6 months training. I started from 0 and 1 year later I had done 3 marathons.

Just get out there and run slow and long.

I think you are right. I am too involved in work to catch that. That is ok.

I missed it the first time. Only when he said banned.

I've been running since I was a nipper. My considered advice is just go and run around a bit until you can do it non-stop for half an hour.

Lots of new runners plans start with running then walking in repetition until you can run consistently for 20 minutes then they up the time.

The main thing is not to start running to fast, and not to worry about your breathing unless you have asthma or some other disease.

If you want the correct running shoes for your pronation and the surface you run on then go to a proper running shop not the likes of JJB etc. They may put you on a treadmill and watch you run, or examine your feet and ask you loads of questions if you have been running before.

Also try and do most of your running off pavements and roads particularly if you want to run longer distances.

Thanks for all the advice, I am off out for a run now. See how far I can run before I need to walk.
