I've come to enjoy the quiet Sundays

I love that the shops are closed on Sundays. It forces one to resort to something other than pointless materialism for entertainment.

Agree actually, and it gives a cycle to a week - a beginning and an end. Here in UK it seems like one long drawn out earning and spending eternity...

I agree. Shops should close far more often. I think in the entire year shops are only closed for two days. My wife hates those two days but at least it would force her to be with the family. It would also reduce the government's VAT intake and that is really all what they care about these days.

I do! The Mrs on the other hand... actually she is starting to learn that after working all week, the last thing I want to do is shopping which is more of a chore than what I do for a living.

well its a TV show so no different to recording it imo - used iTunes to get some new songs on my exs ipod using her mac- synchronised the ipod to the mac itunes like it forced me to and removed the old songs off the ipod - what a load of pony, wouldn't touch it again

It wouldn't really make any difference to VAT.

All people have done is decided to shop at different hours.

If I go to the supermarket at 10pm or midnight the clientèle are either students, who would have used the local corner shop that would be illegally open or petrol station, or people like me who hate crowds. In fact one supermarket near me changed from having 24 hour opening to 14 hour opening when they calculated they weren't making more money.

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion.

I can't really decipher the above gripe but suffice to say it's a closed ecosystem that plays nice with other stuff in the ecosystem.

It will, however, start playing downloads to your apple tv prior to completion.

I liked Sunday shopping when it first came in. I could use Saturdays to just stay at home and wind down after an often hard commute home on Friday evening.

But with the extended hours we now have during the rest of the week, it isn't a big deal any more.
