Socialists and communists don't believe in everyone being equal - they just want you to think they do.

They believe that everyone is equal, but that some are more equal than others.

Soviet leaders lived in the lap of luxury while their people had to survive on basic rations - all under the premise of "equality". Even worse in North Korea today where their people are starving - and check out photos of Robert Mugabe's palace.

Look at Libya - the country is officially named "Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriyah" - yet the Gaddafi's have billions stashed away.

Not saying that capitalists are better, but at least they don't add gross hypocracy to the rap sheet.

Exactly. The free market is loved by all capitalists until:

They need a bail out (bankers)
Fuel prices are interfering with their God Given right to be immune from the market (Farmers and hauliers)
They need to be paid enormous amounts for presiding over failure (company top brass)
They have to cough up in accordance with what they signed up to (Lloyds names)

And that's just off the top of my head. Neither Socialists nor Capitalists have a lot to crow about.
