I have an Android phone with GM Navigation. Generally it gives good advanced warning of congestion with a few false alarms. I had the pleasure of being near the front of the queue on the M5 whilst an accident was cleared one night and it took around half an hour before it recognised the traffic was stopped. Better than nothing and part of the phone so well worth having.Comment

Yes, they usually use the 3g on your phone to sync though
If you've got a smart phone it should just work
I still use a Tom Tom and it comes in handy, but any suggested detours to avoid traffic tend to be followed by anyone else with sat nav so use common senseLast edited by amcdonald; 3 March 2011, 12:01.Doing the needful since 1827Comment

I've got a Tomtom and pay a fiver a month for live traffic alerts and mobile updates. It works quite well although sometimes the actual sat nav directions are a bit screwy....my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...
