Summat to do with the number of points the person who has repped you has. Gricer's negs would probably be neutral.

A grey rep is when the poster doesn't have enough impact.

They can be new posters, posters with a low post count 10/20 or posters who have negative rep points, such as Bolshy, Gricer, Wilmslow.

If in the game of rep, you go negative you cannot rep.
