The thought of going somewhere hot doesn't appeal greatly at the moment, now that I am cold acclimatised and have my thermals on. Maybe that'll change nearer spring.

I commuted from the north west to Geneva each week via EasyJet. It's doable just not much fun!
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

        I preferred version 1!

Buy your old one back, yes the one that is strategically positioned in disputed territory in Cyprus, offer half the amount you got from it, and pay with sterling for Gods sake!

Would it be practical to locate to (for example) a location 10 miles from say Malaga airport and catch an EasyJet flight to the UK every week?

Flights are cheap from Spain (don't seem to double the ticket price with taxes and other UK ripoff extras), about £85 return.

I've never attempted to live in one country and work in another.

I know someone who does just that and is glad he doesn't live in the UK

I do the same but to/from other countries

pays the bills and gives a much better standard of living and education for children

              Milan.

I've thought about it some more, and the best way to know what it is like is to try it.

So I'm going to rent a holiday villa close to Malaga for a month and try a commute and see how it pans out and at the weekends suss out the place.

Just be careful as airlines don't always fly to all destinations throught the whole year and they can often chop and change schedules at short notice which could caus you problems if you have just brought somewhere and they suddenly stop flying there.

it can be done. done years of it from uk to other countries. monday morning flight spain to uk won't be too bad because of the extra timezone. try and cram 5 days into 4 and leave on a thursday to get a decent weekend.

If you hate the cold why on Earth did you move up to Northumberland instead of somewhere like Devon?
